Monterey Cultural Council
Minutes for April 17th, 2014
Council Members Present: Kit Patten, Fiona De Ris, Pat Salomon, Wendy Jensen
Old Business:
-Maple Sugar Demonstration Event with Joe Baker and Bonner MacAllister was well received. Kit took care of the reimbursement
-Upcoming events were discussed: Hike with Conrad Ohman (Beartown State Forest) and Jazz night with the Lucky 4. Both events will take place on June 7th.
-Discussed reimbursements for grants and town funds. Kit contacted Berkshire Fringe and they will send next years grant to our PO Box.
-Thanks to Pat for getting a summer schedule together and getting it to the Berkshire Eagle and the Monterey News.
New Business:
Sgt. Michael Johnson stopped in to the meeting looking for a band or other group to take part in the Memorial Day Parade. Berkshire Batteria was suggested.
-Fiona and Pat attended a Monterey 2020 meeting and spoke of how it might pertain to the Cultural Council. No action was needed at this time.
-The need for new members was discussed. It was also discussed that many people can’t make afternoon meetings due to work. We decided to try having our meetings on the third Monday night of the month at the library to see if this will make it more accessible to some. Wendy will invite Hannah Fries to our next meeting. Fiona will talk to Patty Fox about coming to our next meeting also.
-Wendy will check with Mark Makuc to make sure our meeting at the Library is ok.
-Next meeting will be Monday, May 19th at 7pm at the Library.
Meeting adjourned at 5:30pm.
