Minutes for February 20th, 2014 Monterey Cultural Council, 4pm.
Council Members Present: Susan Johnson, Fiona De Ris, Roz Halberstadter, Wendy Jensen
Old Business:
-Wendy discussed her trip to the Statewide Cultural Council meeting in Boston.
-Discussed reimbursements for grants and town funds
New Business:
-Discussion of upcoming Cultural Council event, the Easy Ridin” Papas on March 1st @ 7:30 at the meeting house. Susan will bring cider/lemonade. Wendy and Roz will bring cookies. Susan, Wendy and Roz will meet and take care of refreshment setup and cleanup for the event.
-Some discussion of attracting new members to the Council. Three of us will be off of the Council in a year.
- Discussion of how to use the remainder of the Town funds. Ideas included:
Photography workshop with Peggy Reeves: Roz will check?
Jazz Night with Don M. Fiona will check on this.
Wildlife discussion and/or walk: with Conrad from Beartown or Bob Rausch. Susan will check
Maple Syrup Demonstration: Wendy will check with Joe Baker
-Discussion of raising town awareness of the Cultural Council, the grant cycle and what we do. Maybe a fun presentation after a community pot luck including a slide show of past events. A pre-grant party for the public to get to know the Cultural Council. Roz will check with Kyle to see if this is even a possibility. September would be a good time.
-Next meeting will be March 20th at 4pm at the Library.
