The Monterey Cultural Council
December 20, 2012 at 16:00
Present at the meeting: Lynne Leavitt, Roz Halberstadter, Fiona De Ris, Susan Johnson, Kit Patten, Wendy Jensen and Diana Deacon.
1. State funds were apportioned to each successful grant.
2. At this time there is approximately $2000 available from town funds. Appropriate projects to support with town funds were discussed.
3. Lynne reported that no requests for reconsideration were received.
4. Letters will be sent to successful grant applicants on January17th. Wendy will furnish us with the letter.
5. The addition of new members to the committee was discussed. Carol Ingher has declined our invitation to join the committee, but fortunately Emma Micklewright has accepted!
6. An advertisement will be posted in the Monterey News soliciting requests for future events that might be supported by the cultural council.
7. Kit suggested that the council might consider operating only on the basis of town funds, in order to reduce the administrative burden associated with state funding. Most of the committee members expressed the view that it was in the best interest of the goals of the council to continue accepting the state funds.
