Monterey Cultural Council Minutes for September 27, 2012
Meeting called to order at 4:00pm.
Council Members present: Lynne Leavitt (Chair), Pat Salomon, Kathryn Roberts, Wendy Jensen
Old Business:
-The mushroom talk/walk by John Wheeler was well attended with about 30 people. It was a cold in the Firehouse Pavillion and many people left before the walk. Roz paid John Wheeler $200 and the town will reimburse her.
-Kathryn passed out posters for the upcoming songwriting workshop even though Robin O’Herin will be posting some herself. Kathryn will be at the workshop both days.
-Kathryn will get the $5 Gift Certificate for the Monterey Fest winner and will be reimbursed from Town funds.
-Wendy reported that plans are under way for the Monterey Makers Studio Tour with 12 participants already signed up. It was suggested to print postcards like in the past to hand out to people. Kathryn will help post signs before and after the event and try to visit several studios.
-Wendy will update the new forms to help organize the Council’s events and make copies that all members must bring to each meeting.
New Business:
-The new grant cycle is starting with the application deadline of Oct. 15. Extra meetings will be added to handle the extra work with the applications. Next regular meeting will be Oct. 18. The Council will also meet on Nov. 1st and Nov. 15th. Lynne will notify the Town Hall about the extra meeting.
-Lynne and Wendy will be meeting with Town Accountant Steve Pullen to discuss the Annual Report and the LCC allocations before the next meeting.
-Pat will get a write up in the Monterey News for the Songwriting Workshop.
Meeting Adjourned at 5:00. Next meeting date is Oct. 18th at 4pm.
