Monterey Cultural Council Minutes for June 21, 2012
Meeting called to order at 4pm.
Council Members present: Lynne Leavitt (Chair), Diana Deacon Ritter, Roz Halberstadter, Pat Salomon, Fiona De Ris (new member), Wendy Jensen
-Guest Claudette Callahan presented the Gould Farm Archive Exhibit Project for the Council to review for possible funding.
Old Business:
-Peggy Reeves Sun Painting Workshop for children on June 23, Diana will contact Peggy to see how enrollment is going. $274.00 will come from Town Fund.
-Monterey Day Emerging Artists update. Wendy has updated website. Only one email for information so far. Great job on Posters by Diana, Roz and Kathryn.
-Potential Mushroom Walk for the fall with John Wheeler. Roz will contact him to set a date. Last walk with John was very well attended.
-Where does the workshop with Robin O’Herin stand. John Heffernan was contacting her. Lynne will follow up with John.
-Barbara Swann will give a lecture July 6 @7pm. Council agrees to pay her $200 from Town Fund. Light refreshments will be offered. Fiona will help set up. Lynne will be present.
New Business:
-Pat offered to make up an event checklist to help us organize our events better.
-Lynne reminded members of the State Cultural Council Meeting July 11 at 1pm.
-Wendy reported on the Community Potluck Supper with Eric Martin as guest musician. A very well received program. Some discussion about possibly funding other speakers/guests for future Community Potlucks.
-Lynne will contact Steve Pullan to verify the remaining funds for Fiscal year 2012. New fiscal year starts July 1.
-Fiona De Ris introduced herself and shared contact information. Lynne will assist her with joining the Council
-Discussions about potential new members having computer skills are very important.
-Agreed to fund $600 for Gould Farm Archive Exhibit Project from Town Funds.
