MCC met in Library at 4pm. Attending:Maureen Banner, Diana Deacon, John Heffernan, Wendy Jansen, Lynne Leavitt, Kit Patten, and Pat Salomon.
I. Open Studio Tour:
Wendy suggested we schedule this on Thanksgiving weekend (Nov 26th), the same day Bidwell House has an evening affair. Pat offered to check with Bidwell to see if they are willing to use that location for one of the starting points. If this date is not convenient, the alternative would be Dec. 3rd. However, Maureen has out of town shows that weekend, and the concensus was to try a busy weekend for 2nd homeowners. Maureen will make posters, Julie S has offered to set up a website, John will make number signs for the houses, and Wendy will make maps and organize the tour.
II.Mushroom Talk and Walk:
John is in charge of this and will handle setup.
III.Publicity: It was suggested we look for a new member of MCC who is computer literate and willing to share some of the load.
Pat is now doing it all with Kit handling the visuals. Other publications to contact are: Otis Gazette and Sandisfield paper.
Diana will distribute posters.
IV. Grant Cycle: Deadline for grant applications is Oct. 15th. Our meetings of Oct.20 and Nov. 17 will deal with these.
Recommended: Two chairpeople for each event to prevent finding ourselves with no one left to take responsibility on that date.
V. Oct 20: 4 pm MCC meeting in Library to discuss grants; to be followed by Pot Luck supper at Lynne’s house. Spouses are invited.
We’ll have about 20 people, so plan to bring food amounts to feed everyone.
Diana: Green salad with lots of stuff in it; Kit: bean salad; Pat: Chicken dish; Maureen and Wendy: dessert:::: Katherine, Roz, and John.....?????
