Meeting called to order at 4pm Thurs, Feb. 17, 2011

Welcome to our new member, Pat Salomon!
Council met with Joel Schick to discuss possible music program. Joel and Robin O’Hearan (sp?) will present this in two parts on separate days.
1, Song writing workshop
2. Open mike for anyone wishing to sing, not just workshop participants
This will be a summer event: Friday for workshop, and Sat or Sun for open mik. Funding will be from an earlier MCC grant, as well as from Town grant money.
Joel will give us possible dates. Place to be determined.
Studio Tour has been such a success, we will try to do this yearly. Date set for this year: Dec. 3, 2911. Wendy is in charge. She reported Tyringham would like to join us.
Depending upon number of their participants, it will be either With us, or next day/weekend? Publicity for both can be combined.
Possible future programs:
1. Peggy Reeves Image Transfer workshop. Because her cost is more than we can afford, (smaller grant already given) it was decided to let her charge participants.
2. Birdwalk: given by Audubon Society: Decided to have Early Sat am in April. Susan is the contact. Cost: $100-175
3. Monterey history lecture on Civil War: at Bidwell House. Lynne and Barbara Swann have discussed, but nothing formulated yet.
4.Pastel Workshop with Greg Maichack: Already funded by MCC...Date to be determined.
5. Nature Walk with Bonner McAllester Date to be determined
6. Mushroom walk Sometime in the Fall
Discussion centered around the Monterberry Festival, which was very successful, but labor intensive for committee. Question arose about licensing where food prep.
(Wendy’s daughter is not available to make the shortcakes this year) May was a good time for this, but IF we do this is questionable.
