CONSERVATION COMMISSION
Town of Monterey, Massachusetts
                                                                        
MEETING DATE: 5/9/18
Present: Claudia Crane, Marion Simon and Mark Little
The meeting convened at 6:00p.m.

452 Main Rd – Monterey Library DEP#230-0290 redevelop the existing library building and site to better serve the community (C. Crane is the project manager)
This hearing was continued from last month.  Mark Makuc, Library Director, Mark Volk, Foresight Land Services and Emily Stockman, Peer Reviewer for the Conservation Commission were all present.  Emily reviewed the final special conditions agreed up by the Commission to issue the Order of Conditions.  The Commission approved the Notice of Intent.

26 Sylvan Rd – Green – RDA – remove rotting retaining wall and replace with boulders (M. Little is the project manager)
This hearing will be continued to next month.

12 Riverwood Way – Johnson - NOI - to construct a 3 bedroom single family home to be serviced by the existing infrastructure (C. Crane is the project manager)
Mike Kulig was present to review the project details.  The applicant has received a substantial list of comments from DEP which they are working on.  The applicant is requesting a continuance to next month’s meeting.

Curtis Rd Bridge Repair – Monterey Highway – RDA – bridge repair (M. Simon is the project manager)
Chris Tryon of Berkshire Geo-Technologies was present to review the project.  This project will begin as soon as we get all necessary approvals and is expected to be completed by mid-October.  The Commission approved this project as a N2 and noted that a tarp must be hung from the bridge to platform to prevent rain from getting on said platform.

Request for Certificate of Compliance for DEP#230-0280 – 40 Sylvan Rd
The Commission issued a Certificate of Compliance for 40 Sylvan Rd.

For Discussion:
  • Mail was reviewed.
  • Minutes from 4.11.18 were approved as written.
  • Chris Tryon informally presented an upcoming fire department project.
  • The Commission met with Kim Wetherall, applicant for the Conservation Commission Agent position.
  • Mike Kulig came in with revised plans for Hume for an Order of Conditions previously issued.
  • Dennis Lynch came in seeking the Conservation Commission support for an application for a 319 grant.
Meeting adjourned at 7:30pm
