CONSERVATION COMMISSION

Present: Claudia Crane, Marion Simon and Mark Little
The meeting convened at 6:00p.m.
Green – Sylvan Rd – RDA – remove existing rotted timber retaining wall at shore and replace with rocks (M. Little is the project manager)
Justin Thompson of Great River Construction was present to review the project details. The project was approved as a N3 with the following conditions; 1. Removal of all timber from site and 2. Silt fence/waddles to be installed between lake and work.
230 Beartown Mtn Rd – SMARDA – install septic system and remove cesspool (R. Wolin is the project manager)
Mike Parson of Kelly Granger and Parsons was present to review the project details. The Commission approved the project with a negative determination as the activity described will not have a substantial impact on the natural scenic qualities of the mountain region and therefore is not a regulated activity.
Lee – RDA – 16 Point Rd - to remove phragmites and cover with weed suppression mats; install stone path; repair supports and replace shed and reduce lawn and replace with native plant beds (M. Little is the project manager)
Bridghe McCraken of Helia Land Design was present to review the project details. The project was approved a a N3 with the condition that straw waddles be installed.
For Discussion:
- Mail was reviewed.
- Minutes from Nov and Dec 2017 and Jan 2018 were approved as written.
- Dennis Lynch came in to discuss the MVP working group.
- Peter Close came in regarding his filings and conversations with DEP.
- Mike Germain came in to discuss the Lake Garfield drawdown order of conditions and other lake filings.
