CONSERVATION COMMISSION
Town of Monterey, Massachusetts

Present: Claudia Crane, Dominic Stucker, Mark Little and Rebecca Wolin
The meeting convened at 5:45p.m.
Town of Monterey – Lake Garfield RDA – temporary deployment of a FCB to restrict watercraft traffic reducing further spreading of watermilfoil (D. Stucker is the project manager)
Dominic is on the Lake Garfield Working Group and described the project which was submitted by Dennis Lynch. The project was approved as submitted as a N2. A member of the audience objected to the applications submitted and who they were submitted to and felt that the Conservation Commission had no authority in the matter. The Conservation Commission emphasized that its jurisdiction concerning the RDA was only regarding the assessment of the proposed project on the lake bottom.
24 Laurel Banks – Request for Certificate of Compliance
The Commission unanimously approved issuing a certificate of compliance for DEP file #230-180.
24 Blue Hill Rd – Request for Certificate of Compliance (T. Lovett is the project manager)
The Commission unanimously approved issuing a certificate of compliance for DEP file #230-0282.
For Discussion:
- The Commission signed the documents with regards to the Hume cell tower confirming what was agreed upon at an earlier meeting.
- Mail was reviewed.
- Minutes from 6/13/17 were approved as written.
- The Commission discussed hiring a Conservation Agent and reviewed job descriptions from surrounding towns.
- Dominic provided an update on 28 Northwest Cover Rd. He reported that the homeowner may have brought in sand to supplement the beach which was not a part of the original approval.
