CONSERVATION COMMISSION

MEETING DATE: September 13, 2016
Present: David Dempsey, Dennis Lynch, Claudia Crane (arrived at 6:20) and Dominic Stucker
The meeting convened at 6:10p.m.
Maximon – 360 Beartown Mtn Rd – RDA – extend and enclose existing entry way (D. Dempsey is the project manager)
Hillel Maximon was present to review the project. The Commission approved the project as submitted.
Germain – 3 Buckingham – RDA – replace existing septic tank s (C. Crane is the project manager)
Chris Tryon of Berkshire Geo-Technologies was present to review the project. This property currently has a failed septic system which is breaking out. The project was approved as submitted as a N3 subject to the following condition: silt fence installed as per plan dated 7/27/16.
Catino – 31 Sackman Way – RDA - replace an existing deck and stairs, remodel garage and install a grinder pump (D. Stucker is the project manager)
Shannon Boomsma of White Engineering was present to review the project details. The Commission approved the project as submitted as a N3 subject to the following condition: silt fence located on plans dated 8/11/16.
Klingenstein – 149 Hupi Rd – Cert of Compliance (D. Dempsey is the project manager)
Shannon Boomsma was present to request a Certificate of Compliance for this project. The certificate was issued.
Resnick – 24 Lakeside Terr – NOI – demo existing house, construct new single family, septic upgrade, driveway realignment, drainage improvements, new dock and tree cutting (D. Lynch is the project manager)
Shannon Boomsma of White Engineering was present to review the project details. Natural Heritage has not yet commented and the plans are going to be changing. This will be continued to the October meeting.
Gould Farm – RDA – trench for fiber optic cable (C. Crane is the project manager)
Nathaniel Rundle was present to review the project details. The project was approved as submitted as a N3 subject to the following condition: prior review of pole placement spanning river before construction.
Mielke – 55 Eaton – RDA – vista pruning (D. Lynch is the project manager)
Mike Mielke was present to review the project details.
For Discussion:
- Shannon Boomsma of White Engineering invited the Commission to come check on the progress at 3 Carl’s Lane.
- Steve Keller, Vertex Towers came in to continue the conversation from last month on some modifications to the cell tower project on Chestnut Hill. They will submit something official in writing for the Commission to sign off on.
- Doug Bruce of BNRC came in to discuss a beaver issue on Bob’s Way. The Board of Health is on board with a permit being issued. The Commission agreed to issue an emergency certificate.
- Mail was reviewed.
- Minutes from 8.9.16were approved as written.
- The Commission discussed a violation that occurred at Steven’s Lake which has since been satisfactorily remediated. Dennis will prepare a letter to the property owner.
