CONSERVATION COMMISSION

MEETING DATE: 4/8/14
Present: Timothy Lovett, David Dempsey, and Betty Pixley
The meeting convened at 6:46p.m. (the meeting started late due to lack of a quorum and access to the building)

Hume – 73 Chestnut Hill Rd – NOI – seven foot drawdown of Stedman Pond for dam repairs & improvements (B. Pixley is the project manager)
Chris Tryon, representative for this project has informed the Commission that this project will be changing from the original filing therefore the Commission will be closing this hearing as the application is being withdrawn.  New applications will be filed.

Hume – 73 Chestnut Hill Rd – SMA NOI – SMA13-02 (B. Pixley is the project manager)

Woods/Coon – 53 Harmon Rd – RDA - construct an addition to an existing building, install a septic system in accordance with Title V regulations and install a new well (D. Dempsey is the project manager)
Chris Tryon, representative for this project was present to review the details.  The project consists of a small addition and deck along with a new septic and well.  There is an intermittent stream on the property.  The Commission approved the project as submitted.

For Discussion:
1.  Mail was reviewed.
2.  Minutes from 2.11.14 were approved as written.
3.  Chris Tryon informally discussed new plans for the Hume property which would include a lodge for housing staff and counselors.  The next phase would include a maintenance garage/facility.  They also have plans to construct a gymnasium.  The buildings as proposed right now will be outside the buffer zone however the projects fall within the Scenic Mountain Act.  Chris had questions as to which forms he should file.
4.  The Commission reviewed the special permit application for 457 Main Rd and determined that the project as submitted does not fall under their jurisdiction.
5.  The Commission reviewed the special permit application for 34 Northeast Cove Rd and determined that the project as submitted does not fall under their jurisdiction.
