CONSERVATION COMMISSION

Present: Richard Andrus, Timothy Lovett, David Dempsey, Christopher Blair and Betty Pixley
The meeting convened at 6:05p.m.
Hume – 73 Chestnut Hill Rd – NOI – seven foot drawdown of Stedman Pond for dam repairs & improvements and Hume – 73 Chestnut Hill Rd – SMA NOI – SMA13-02 (B. Pixley is the project manager)
These hearings will be continued to the September meeting, no one was present.
Luxenberg – 19 Corashire Rd – remove 12” culvert & replace (R. Andrus is the project manager)
Ronnie Leonard of Mt Everett Landscaping was unable to be present. Chris clarified that the project is to replace the culvert only, there will not be any driveway work done. The Commission approved the project as submitted as a N3 subject to the condition that the work is only to replace the culvert.
Pasche – 136 Tyringham – RDA, replace septic (B. Pixley is the project manager)
Chris Tryon and Attorney Oggiani were present to represent the Pasche Estate and explain the project to replace the septic which has failed Title V. The applicant is also hoping to move a pole and to install underground electric but they are waiting on a determination from National Grid’s engineers. The Commission approved the project as presented as a N2.
Mensi – 18 Sylvan Rd – RDA, construct a 14’ diameter circular hardscape patio (C. Blair is the project manager)
Laura Mensi was present to review the project. Laura provided photos of the area. The Commission approved the project as submitted as a N3 subject to the condition that the addition of a silt fence between the work area and lake be installed. The Commission advised Ms. Mensi to check with the Building Inspector prior to starting the project.
Hartman – 37 Stevens Lake – RDA, construct a stone staircase and retaining walls to access building entry. Replace existing weak stone retaining walls with new stone retaining walls (D. Dempsey is the project manager)
Walter Cudnohufsky was present to review the project. Nothing in the proposal will be taller than 4ft. The Commission approved the project as submitted as a N3.
For Discussion:
1. Mail was reviewed.
2. Dave Quisenberry of 30 Bidwell Rd came in to have an informal discussion about replacing, rebuilding his dock. The Commission stated he would need to file with the Commission.
3. The Commission reviewed a special permit application for 23 Laurel Banks and determined that it does fall under their jurisdiction and will require filing prior to beginning any work.
