Conservation Commission Minutes 1/10/12
CONSERVATION COMMISSION
Town of Monterey, Massachusetts

MEETING DATE: 1/10/12
Present: Richard Andrus, David Dempsey and Betty Pixley
The meeting convened at 6:15p.m.

14 Woodland Dr – Perelmuter RDA – to pour an equipment pad for hot tub equipment (T. Lovett is the project manager)
Lou Boxer, representative for the Perelmuter’s was present to review the project.  The project was approved as submitted as a N3 subject to the following condition: pad size not to exceed 40sq ft.

For Discussion:
1.  Mail was reviewed.
2.  Minutes from 12.13.11 were approved as written.
3.  The Commission voted to submit their FY13 budget request as level funded.
4.  The Commission reviewed the ZBA special permit application and responded to the ZBA that this application was presented to them under a NOI in December and an OOC was issued at that time.
5.  The Commission reviewed the Forest Cutting plans on file for the Bidwell House on Art School Rd. (DCR file #’s 193-4508-10 and 193-5136-11) because Rick received a call from the Banner’s that the site was being clear cut.  Rick walked the site and stated it looked like any other logging site.  He’s left a message for Thomas Ryan, Service Forester with the Division of State Parks & Recreation to have them follow up and make a site visit to be sure the plan submitted is being followed.
6.  The Commission discussed Mr. Levkoff’s request for a certificate of compliance on his property.  Dave reviewed the documents from this file which state that upon completion of the slope restoration and a report of compliance from the environmental monitor (Rob Ackroyd of Greylock), the Commission will authorize the town Building Commissioner to issue a building permit for the project submitted at which time the applicant can start on Phase II.  There is a 5 year restoration period on the trees.  All agreed that the site looks great now.  The Commission discussed how to give a certificate of compliance on a building project that has since been abandoned (the original project description in the NOI).

Meeting adjourned at 7pm
