CONSERVATION COMMISSION

The meeting convened at 6:10p.m.
Extension request for DEP file #230-0242 – Town of Monterey
Pat Edelstein of the Friends of Lake Garfield and Dean Amidon were present to review the studies and reports on Lake Garfield that support continuing and extending the Order of Conditions for the drawdown of Lake Garfield. The Commission approved the extension until 5/12/14. M. Noe will send the paperwork to the Registry to record. The Commission requested that when this comes before them again they’d like to know the average time it takes to perform the drawdown and details concerning the drawdown procedure such as a log.
For Discussion:
1. Mail was reviewed.
2. Minutes from 2.22 & 3.8.11 were approved as written.
3. Susan Bachelder came in to request approval for additional work on her property at 12 Laurel Banks under the current RDA. The Commission agreed since she had previously filed an RDA with approvals. The Commission finds that the applicant may also remove the existing deck as part of the previous RDA approval (Oct 2010).
4. The Commission reviewed the request to remove 2 tall pine trees at 26/28 Northwest Cove Rd., the Ehrlich property. The Commission approved removing the 2 trees and grinding down the stumps.
5. The Commission reviewed a plan change request for 18 Sylvan Rd DEP file #230-0258 and approved the changes as submitted with no further filing necessary.
