Conservation Commission Minutes 8/9/10
CONSERVATION COMMISSION
Town of Monterey, Massachusetts

MEETING DATE: 8/9/10
Present: David Dempsey, Judith Bach and Christopher Blair, Rick Andrus and Tim Lovett arrived later
The meeting convened at 6:00p.m.

Fitzpatrick – RDA – 39 Tyringham Rd – increase size of existing deck and resurface, replace railings and stairs (D. Dempsey is the project manager)
This was continued from the May meeting.  Cheryl Fitzpatrick, owner and Josh Allentuck, contractor came in to review the project which already took place.  The RDA was originally filed by another contractor who did not get the job and the homeowner did not realize she still needed to file.  Chris stated that it’s not what you do, it’s the activity within the buffer zone that prompts the need for filing and this is dictated by the DEP.  The project was approved as a N3.

Hall – RDA – 214 Blue Hill Rd – to construct a new septic system and renovate barn into a residence (C. Blair is the project manager)
Chris noted that the ad stated to “and renovate a barn” but the application just stated to construct a septic system.  If the barn is going to be renovated the Commission would like to see building plans.  Dave stated that he signed off on it under a project review form.  Mike Parsons, the Hall’s representative did not have any information on the renovation.  The original application stated it was for 212 Blue Hill Rd, but the property has been split and recorded and the address is actually 214 Blue Hill Rd for the barn.  We are still waiting on a map and lot number as the Assessors did not have this property split in their records.  The project was approved as a N3.

Reiss – RDA – 22 Bidwell Rd – to relocate an existing path to the lakefront (D. Dempsey is the project manager)
Tom Ingersoll, representative for the Reiss’ came in to present the project.  A motion was made to accept the project as presented and it was approved as a N3.

For Discussion:
1.  Mail was reviewed.
2.  Minutes from 7.12.10 were approved as written.
3.  There was some discussion about the planting at 19 Point Rd.

Meeting adjourned at 7:45pm
