CONSERVATION COMMISSION

MEETING DATE: April 23, 2007

Present: Christopher Blair, Richard Andrus, Chairperson, Timothy Lovett, and David Dempsey

The meeting convened at 6:00p.m.

Raifstanger – 664 Main Rd, SMA RDA New Single Family SMA07-02
Keith Pomeroy of Kelly, Granger and Parsons presented the plans to build a new single family home in a scenic mountain region (1550 feet).  The board approved the project as submitted and determined that the activity described will not have a substantial impact on the natural scenic qualities of the mountain region and is therefore not a regulated activity.

For Discussion:

1.      The board approved the minutes from 3.12.07 and 4.9.07.
2.      The board instructed M. Noe to draft a letter to be sent to the Alpert’s at Mt Hunger Rd regarding their recently built retaining wall that parts of have fallen down.  They are requesting that the Alpert’s contact the board regarding this situation prior to their May meeting.
3.      The board discussed the letter from the Select Board and the Hudson attorneys regarding the sale of 76 acres on Tyringham Rd and the town’s first refusal option.
4.      The email regarding a dock repair on Lake Garfield was reviewed and discussed.  The owner states that the dock is unsalvageable which would require them to file an RDA with the Conservation Commission to rebuild.
5.      The board reviewed their mail.
