Assessor Meeting Minutes 11/22/14

Meeting began at:  10:00 a.m.

Members Present:

        Linda Hamill, Clerk

  Monterey Resident, Peter Vallianos sat in on the discussion.

  • The Board discussed the information that Robert Lazzarini received from the DOR attorneys, Don Gorton and John Gannon concerning the valuation of lands in APR’s and CR’s and their relationship to lands in the Chapter 61A programs.  The information received from the DOR is that properties with these designations that are in Chapter 61A must be actively devoted to farming.  Questions that need to be addressed concerning APR’s and CR’s in our database will be discussed and acted upon individually at an upcoming meeting.
  • The Board also discussed to change the Policies and Standards to agree with the Department’s interpretation.  The Board has agreed to make these changes.
  • The Board has provided the Employee Compensation Committee with job descriptions of the Board members, Principal Assessor and Clerk.  The Clerk had already provided her job description to the Committee’s secretary, Bethany Mielke, earlier in the week.
