MONTEREY BOARD OF ASSESSORS
TOWN HALL, MONTEREY
Wednesday, April 19, ’06
The meeting was called to order by Stan Ross at 4:10PM. Stan Ross, Bob Gauthier, Bob Lazzarini, Don Clawson and Linda Hamill were in attendance. Don Clauson reported that the Mass. Department of Revenue responded by phone to our query concerning the correct classification of the Richard Jaffe property. They concluded that if the Jaffe cottage had a kitchen the property should be classified as a LUC 109; if it did not, it should be classified as a LUC 101. In the latter case the cottage would be treated as additional rooms and baths associated with the main residence. The DOR response did not define what is a kitchen, and the Assessors agreed that they should contact DOR again asking for a written definition of “kitchen” .
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 4:35 PM.
