Brief introduction regarding the overlay districts.
Telecommunications
In 2011 the town approved the telecommunications zoning bylaw which designates Wireless Telecommunications Overlay District (WTOD) as the entire town of Monterey.
When the zoning bylaw revision was done in 2012 the Planning Board omitted to add the WTOD to the zoning bylaws.
The purpose of the public hearing is to prepare for a special town meeting so we may add the WTOD to Section 2.2.1 of the zoning bylaws.
Solar Photovoltaic Systems Overlay District
The Planning Board recently held a public hearing on March 14, 2013 for the public to review a proposed zoning bylaw on solar power installations.
At the hearing the Planning Board reported that the overlay district for solar power would be the entire town of Monterey.
However the Planning Board did not add the language to Section 2.2.2 Of the Zoning bylaws. (At that time the current zoning bylaws were not yet approved.)
The purpose of this public hearing is to prepare for a special town meeting and add language to Section 2. Of the Monterey Zoning Bylaws.
A proposal to add a new table to the Monterey Zoning Bylaws Section 3.1.3 designated as table K. Add to Table K the following:
