 MONTEREY SELECT BOARD MEETING AGENDA

9 – 9:30am:
  • Approve 1/30/12 minutes
  • Sign and send letter to school committee on FY13 budget & Monterey School
  • Town Reports still not received after 3 notices: Select Board (J. Sylbert), SBRSD, School Committee Rep, Cemetery Commission and Town Clerk
  • Approve executive session minutes from 5/23/11
  • Review request from Environment Massachusetts to help with a campaign to increase the use of solar energy in the state
  • Review MEMA Statewide Public Safety Mutual Aid Law (GL c.40 §4J) and vote on whether to adopt
  • FY13 budget requests; to be reviewed with the Finance Committee in Feb.
  • Follow up on misc bylaws approved at 2011, 2010 & 2009 town meetings and the AG’s response; Linda Thorpe to provide reports/AG approvals to the Board – M. Noe requested the documents again on 1/18/12 with no response
  • Administrative items; write correspondence, review mail, review weekly employee reports, etc.
  • Review and amend Personnel Policy/Employee Handbook; Select Board has copy to review and approve if acceptable
9:30 – 10am: Employees to present sample contracts/employment agreements

10am: Executive Session with Town Counsel (will not return to open meeting):
  • Collective Bargaining
  • Potential Litigation
  • Pending Open Meeting Law Complaint

Town Bylaw sections to review/update/create:
    1.  Town Report Section – update

         a.  Update COA bylaw to read more clearly
    3.  Revise alarm bylaws; Chief Backhaus will supply the Board with a draft proposal, Board would like  Shawn Tryon, Fire Chief to review as well and submit suggestions

Schedule & host an emergency management meeting.

Bringing back “I Love Monterey Day”

*Installing central a/c in town offices
*Finish basement

Waiting on a response from WMH Committee re: schedule of their plans for the municipal use of the Wilson McLaughlin House with the stages of construction as well as a timetable of their fundraising goals (7/18)
