OLD/NEW BUSINESS

FY2015 Budgets ~ Budget modifications have been submitted for the 3% COLA for Department Heads and the AFSCME contract.  Adjustments were made to the retained earnings to be appropriated to balance the budget, as discussed.

Capital Projects/FINCOM ~ Craig and Paul attended the FINCOM meeting Monday to discuss all article requests.  Craig had some visual aids.  All article requests received FinCom approval.  Craig will have a power point presentation prepared for the May 12, 2014 Town Meeting to help answer questions.

Storage Building ~ the Board of Selectmen Meeting met last night, Tim, Craig and John Morrell proposed the location next to the Bellmen Barn for a W&S/Park & Rec combined storage building.  This location would eliminate traffic issues with Park & Rec at 110 Main Street, removes the presence from Hillside (school property) to a central (town owned) location and includes a square footage cost savings.  Steve O’Shea from Park & Rec also was in attendance.  The BOS approved the proposed location.  There will be two article requests pertaining to the building.  The Water half will be included in the Special and the Sewer half within the Annual Town Meeting.  The building will be for Water and Sewer use and Craig neglected to include two requests initially.  When he discovered his oversight it was too late to add it to the Special Warrant so we added it to the Annual Warrant.

Department Activity
Three services on Palmer Road were replaced main to gate, and one was replaced completely to the house.  One curb valve was replaced and relocated on Gate Street.
Chlorine ~ May 1st chlorine solution was diluted in tanks to half strength.
Hydrant Repair ~ Re-adjusted hydrant at the Monson Savings Bank that was damaged over the winter, Tassinari excavated so we could re-adjust the shoe connection, luckily it was nothing serious.  Bollards will be put around the hydrant to prevent future damage.

NEXT MEETING:  The next meeting has been set for Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 6:30p.m.

ADJOURN:  A motion was made by Paul and seconded by Joe to adjourn at 7:10 p.m.  Motion passed unanimously.
