Minutes 2011.03.16
Members Present:  Chairman Stephen C. Lobik, Vice Chairman Douglas R. North, Clerk Joseph M. Prior
Superintendent:  Craig W. Jalbert
Secretary:  Dale Barnes-Johnson
Open the Meeting:  The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.
Accept the Minutes:  A motion was made by Joe and seconded by Doug to accept the February 16, 2011 meeting minutes.  Motion passed unanimously.

OLD/NEW BUSINESS:
Chlorination Equipment ~ The equipment has arrived, now it is a matter of making time to get it installed.  Craig has been working to plumb the stations preparing for installation.  Palmer Road is almost ready, Bunyan and Bethany require work, and hopefully the electrician will schedule to come out next week for his work.  Other things are pressing; however Craig would like to have the equipment done by warm weather, possibly the end of March although this is not realistic.

Mechanic Street Bridge ~ Still no updates, waiting to hear from FEMA; this program does not have a timeline to give cause for concern. As discussed at previous meetings, funds have already been appropriated at Town Meeting.

Department Activity ~
Bunyan Road Well ~ Maher Well Services pulled the pump motor, which turned out to be shot, therefore replaced.  The well has since been chlorinated, flushed, tested and is back in service.  Tom and Randy took the old motor back to the shop to take it apart; it appeared one spot had expanded, possibly from a lightning hit.

Consumer Confidence Report (C.C.R.) ~ Dale and Craig prepared the yearly report as required by the MassDEP.  It is a step by step process to cover requirement changes, include information on system improvements, water sources, water treatment, water protection, cross connections, flushing, health information, water saving tips, and water quality testing table results, and waivers.  The Commission gave their approval, and as in the past few years; it will be included in the April billing meeting the July requirement without a special mailing.

Meter Reading Software and Vadar:  A conference call has been set up to straighten out an on-going issue with the Vadar software.  Ti-Sales will be on site during the Web-Ex session with Vadar.  Once resolved, we will go ahead with updating the meter reading software.

Town Election:  Annual Town Election is April 4, 2011

NEXT MEETING:  The next meeting has been set for Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.

ADJOURN:  A motion was made by Joe and seconded by Doug to adjourn from open session to go into executive session at 7:05p.m.  Motion passed unanimously.
