Town Office Building/Police Facility Committee
Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.

Peter Matrow, co-chairman called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.
MOTION made by David Beaudoin to accept the 4/16/13 meeting minutes, seconded by Reed Coles. It was so VOTED.
Architect David King, Kaestle Boos reported that he met with stakeholders and changes were made to the schematic design. Committee reviewed the revised design. KB’s estimated the cost of the project to be $8,155,000, which brings it to within the budget. That works out to $348.19 per square foot.
Shane Nolan, OPM reported:
Electrical relocation is progressing. The new supply has been brought into the temp. Police station and will be energized this week. The building generator will be moved and relocated to the police station next week.
Kaestle Boos estimated project at $8,155,000 and Daedalus at $7,976,693, which amounts to them being within 3% of each other. Daedalus figured a sf price as $340.56. “We are where we want to be on the building budget.”
After discussion, MOTION made by David Beaudoin to accept the progress print of 4/25/13 as presented. Jo Sauriol & Reed Coles seconded and it was SO VOTED.
Shane Nolan, OPM continued reporting:
Associated Building Wreckers is in process of asbestos abatement from former town hall. They are expecting to begin taking down the building the week of May 6th and expect it will take about two weeks, with an estimate of being totally done by the beginning of June, 2013.
Proposals for the commissioning of the new project have been received and they range between $21,000 and $37,000.

After Shane reviewed the project budget with no change in the bottom line but money apportioned differently,
MOTION made by David Beaudoin to reaffirm the project budget dated April 25, 2013. Jo Sauriol seconded and it was SO VOTED.
David King stated he will continue to look at materials to present for the interior and for landscaping.
A work session to discuss interior materials was set tentatively for May 1st at 11:00 for town department heads and four committee members. Dorothy Whitaker, Reed Coles, Charles Kuss, Peter Matrow and/or Jo Sauriol were available to attend.
Shane drew a rough calendar as follows: 5/21/13 drawing review; 6/7/13 end DD; mid-July, 2013 construction design and July 29, 2013 bid day.
Discussed prequalifying bidders.
Dorothy Whitaker discussed releases to the community to advise of committee’s progress and if and when they could appear on the town website.
Jo Sauriol made a MOTION that the committee approve in advance to pay the bill for Associated Building Wreckers provided it does not exceed the proposed amount and contingent upon Daedalus’ approval. Committee members will come in separately to sign. David Beaudoin seconded the motion and it was SO VOTED.
The town meeting is on May 13, 2013. Dorothy Whitaker will provide an outline for that meeting.
The next committee meeting will be Monday May 20, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.
MOTION made by Dave Beaudoin to adjourn the meeting. Jo Sauriol seconded and it was so voted.
