Town Office Building/Police Facility Committee
Monday, March 4, 2013 at 6:04 p.m.
Members present: John Goodrich, II and Kurt Kaiser, co-chairmen, Reed Coles; David Beaudoin; Jo Sauriol; Charles Kuss and Stephen Lobik
Members absent: Dorothy Whittaker
Attendees: Shane Nolan, Owner’s Project Manager; Dan LaRoche, Disaster Recovery Manager and Monson Police Chief Steve Koslowski
John Goodrich called the meeting to order at 6:04 pm
MOTION made by Reed Coles to accept the 2/25/13 meeting minutes, seconded by Jo Sauriol. It was so VOTED.
Discussion regarding the plan being presented at 27,005 square foot.
MOTION made by Dave Beaudoin to accept for estimating purposes the 27,005 square feet on the progress print dated March 4, 2013, seconded by Reed Coles. All voted in favor.
A poster rendering of the proposed building will be available for the Monday, March 11th Town Meeting. There will also be a copy of prints for presentation to the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday, March 12th.
Report by Shane Nolan:
Received 10 bids for the building demolition on Friday, March 1, 2013. Nine of those ten were correct bids. The bids ranged from $276,900 to $600,000. The lowest bid was invalidated, leaving the next bid of $283,300 by Associated Building Wreckers, Inc. They would demolish the building, remove the foundation and grade what remains.
MOTION by Peter Matrow to authorize Shane Nolan to move forward with the apparent lowest bidder, Associated Building Wreckers at $283,300. Kurt Kaiser seconded the motion and it was so VOTED.
John Goodrich will be inviting the Commissioners of Park and Rec to the next meeting to find out where they are at with the park and rec shed.
PRESENTED BILLS as follows:
Architect, Kaestle Boos for bid documents in amount of $1,080.00
Architect Kaestle Boos for contract installment in amount of $75,500.00
Andrew Johnson Co Inc. for printing bid packets – two bills totaling $100.64; and
Sharon Coles, recording secretary for services rendered totaling $151.79

MOTION made by Jo Sauriol to pay the $76,832.43 in bills. Kurt Kaiser seconded and motion was passed. Reed Coles abstained.
Next committee meeting will be on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.
Dave Beaudoin made a MOTION to adjourn meeting. Steve Lobik seconded. And it was so VOTED.
