MONSON PLANNING BOARD
MINUTES OCTOBER 21, 2014
MEMBERS PRESENT: Craig Sweitzer, Paul Hatch, and Tara Hengveld.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Kevin Haley and Karen King.
ALSO PRESENT: Eugene Quaglini, Upper Palmer Road, Dan Laroche, Town Planner.
5 High Street First Church– tabled due to a no show by Ellen Freyman of the First Church.
Cote Road Evan and Karen Carrara Estate Lot – The Board discussed the need for the applicant to re-apply and resubmit the plan since it has been over two years.
Paul Hatch moved that an application and plan should be resubmitted to the Board for a Special Permit for an estate lot.
Tara Hengveld seconded the motion.
It was so voted unanimously.
Eugene Quaglini of Upper Palmer Road questioned the size of the plantings by Protech Energy for the solar farm. He did not feel that the plantings were robust enough and did not provide an adequate screen for the abutters.
Craig Sweitzer asked Mr. Laroche to look into it and look into whether the planting are of adequate size and spacing
Dan Laroche stated to the Board that he has been recently asked by a couple of solar farm developers on whether there was any interest in reducing the 50 acre land requirement for large solar projects over 250 Kw. Mr. Laroche said he will do research on how other towns zoning bylaws are handling large solar projects.
The meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
