Meeting of 2012-11/09
Monson Cemetery Commission
Thursday, November 9, 2012

The monthly meeting of the Cemetery Commission opened at 6:05pm in the office at 32 Wilbraham Road. Commissioners present were: Jim Duggan, Jim Metzger and Kyle DeMaio Superintendent.

OLD BUSINESS:
Minutes from meetings held in June, July, August and September were accepted as read. There was no meeting in October as we did not get a quorum for the meeting on October 4th or 11th, this is because we have only two active members and one of the two had other commitments both times.

NEW BUSINESS:
Discussion on returning to offer Saturday burials for the convenience of families. We decided and voted to charge an extra $100.00 on top of regular fees for Saturday burials and that a letter would be done and sent out to funeral directors so they can offer this to families. This would cover overtime expenses to our full time laborer as our Superintendent is on salary.
Reviewed the wall project and the CPA funds. We will ask Bob Haveles to present us with a report on the project, projected costs of what is left so we can turn that over to the CPC group for future discussions and considerations. We were well under budget on this project and accomplished more that we planned.
New software was installed in new computer, purchased by the selectmen office and is housed there as Gaylin works out of there and records can be backed up on town’s server. Kyle will check and see how the new software is progressing.
Kyle showed us a draft of the rules revision that we are looking to do with our rules and regulations for our cemeteries to have them updated and not be repetitive.
New truck specs were done by Kyle and submitted to capital committee for review and approval for town meeting. Hopefully we will be lucky and get a much needed piece of equipment.
Also will have Kyle look at prices and replacement of office door, as it is in desperate need of replacement. Also he will look and price new signage for our cemeteries to make them look more presentable.
Signed bills and deeds as needed.

                Meeting was adjourned at 7:20pm

Next meeting is Thursday December 6, 2012, at 6pm.

Respectfully Submitted
James Duggan, Chairman/Clerk
