Meeting of 2012-08/02
Monson Cemetery Commission
Thursday, August 2, 2012

The monthly meeting of the Cemetery Commission opened at 6:05pm in the office at 32 Wilbraham Road. Commissioners present were: Jim Duggan, Jim Metzger and Kyle DeMaio our Acting Superintendent.

OLD BUSINESS:

Updated on the wall project and where we are in the process. Jim Duggan met with Bob Haveles and Jim Finnegan at 4:30pm today to discuss the wall and the color of the mortar to be used on the wall. The question was the color choice and which would blend the best with wall. Jim explained how he reset the caps in areas from garage side around to Mill Street.

NEW BUSINESS:
We went through the 54 applications for the laborer’s position that was posted in the papers. Kyle had separated them to make it easier to select a number to interview. We chose four of the strongest candidates to interview which would be on Tuesday, 8/7/12. Jim Metzger will contact them and set up times for interviews.
Kyle received two letters of complaints regarding the enforcement of the current rules in our Cemeteries. Kyle will respond to them and explain the rules to them and that they have been in existence for a long time.
Discussed the shrubbery at Hillside and Hillcrest cemeteries and how they have overgrown in some cases and should be removed. We would leave it up to Kyle to decide which ones should be removed and the others need to be trimmed. Eventual replacement of some will be discussed at a later date.

                Meeting was adjourned at 7:40pm
Next meeting is Thursday September 6, 2012, at 6pm.

Respectfully Submitted
James Duggan, Chairman/Clerk
