Meeting of 2011-08/04
Monson Cemetery Commission
Thursday, August 4, 2011

The monthly meeting of the Cemetery Commission opened at 6:05pm in the office at 32 Wilbraham Road. Commissioners present were: Jim Duggan, Jim Metzger.  Also present was Paul Lovell, Superintendent. Minutes of the May 5, 2011 meeting were read and accepted. There were no minutes for the June 2, 2011 meeting as we cancelled the meeting because of the Tornado that hit on June 1st, and the minutes from the July 7, 2011 meeting were accepted.

OLD BUSINESS:
Paul received two quotes on the fence on North Main Street Cemetery: one from Brodeur Campbell fence and the other from Hastie fence. We went with the lower bid from Hastie to fix the fences. Once done, the bill will be sent to the Town/FEMA to pay.
Jim Metzger spoke with Bob Haveles on the walls and CPA and what the next steps would be to move forward. He is looking at concentrating on the Main Street and corner of Thompson Street sections to begin. We are working with him and with the Historic Commission who is also involved with this project. All bills for this project will be sent to the CPA committee and they will pay them directly, as was told to us by Leslie.
NEW BUSINESS:
Paul has informed us that he went through the process of posting Jan’s position as he left to go to the Water Dept. and his brother who worked part time for the Parks & Recreation Dept. was the only one to sign for this position and Paul hired him as to avoid any gaps.
Paul received reports from FEMA on the North Main Street and Main Street Cemeteries on the damage that occurred. We briefly looked at them.
.
Commissioners signed bills schedule and lot sale forms.

                Meeting was adjourned at 7:05pm
Next meeting is Thursday, September 1, 2011, at 6pm.

Respectfully Submitted
James Duggan, Chairman/Clerk
