Monson Cemetery Commission

The monthly meeting of the Cemetery Commission opened at 6:05pm in the office at 32 Wilbraham Road. Commissioners present were: Jim Duggan and Jim Metzger.  Also present was Paul Lovell, Superintendent and Bob Haveles from Architectural Insights. Minutes of the February 23, 2011 meeting were not ready for reading or approval but would be ready for next meeting.

OLD BUSINESS:

        Bob Haveles, Jim and Paul discussed the CPC meeting they attended. Information was handed to them and the project was discussed, where we were and what is next. Bob’s company will provide a more detailed proposal on the scope of the project and what is being done so that it can be approved by the CPC and at Town Meeting this spring so we can go out and secure bids and award the project so it can begin.
        We also briefly mentioned the Norcross grant for the upgraded software and the discussion on fees and rules & regulations, both of which are being tabled for a later meeting as the CPA / wall project is taking up our time.
        
NEW BUSINESS:

        Along with the CPA funds and projected costs of hiring Architectural Insights (the $800.00 retainer already paid) along with the other money needed to pay for the engineering fees, we have decided to take money from our Perpetual Care fund to hire them to complete this project. We will have transferred another $2,200.00 to cover the costs. These costs we were told would be recouped and would be covered by the CPA funds, which hopefully will be transferred back into our Perpetual Care account.

                Meeting was adjourned at 7:20pm

Next meeting is Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 6pm.
