Monson Cemetery Commission
Thursday, August 5, 2010
The monthly meeting of the Cemetery Commission opened at 6:09pm in the office at 32 Wilbraham Road. Commissioners present were: Jim Duggan and Al Wilcox. Also present was Paul Lovell, Superintendent. Minutes of the July 2, 2010 meeting were read and approved as presented.
OLD BUSINESS:
Paul went over the Bethany Road Cemetery issue – he has found 3 of 4 pins or markers for that cemetery. He also spoke with the female that lives at the first house on Pine Street that abuts the cemetery property and discussed the bounds and the issues we are having. A suggestion is that we may have to have the property professionally surveyed so that this issue can be put to rest. They are still mowing the property that doesn’t belong to them, which needs to stop.
The CPA forms/application will be filled out and submitted to the CPA committee for consideration on the walls at Hillside Cemetery.
NEW BUSINESS:
Paul handed out the new budget figures for our department for this fiscal year and as predicted it is bare bones and we will make do with what we received.
Also a copy of a letter from the Norcross Foundation was handed out and read. They did not select our proposal for the removal of and replanting of trees in our cemeteries for this year.
No other business was discussed.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:55pm
Next meeting is Thursday, September 2, 2010, at 6pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
James Duggan, Chairman/Clerk
