Thursday, July 1, 2010
The monthly meeting of the Cemetery Commission opened at 6:07pm in the office at 32 Wilbraham Road. Commissioners present were: Jim Duggan, Al Wilcox and Jim Metzger. Also present was Paul Lovell, Superintendent. Minutes of the June 2, 2010 meeting were read and approved as presented; one correction was the day of our next scheduled meeting was changed from Wednesday to Thursday as it should be.
OLD BUSINESS:
Updates were discussed: the wall at Hillside cemetery along with the CPA application; the Norcross Grant and status; survey results were handed out and mailed out to all communities that participated in the survey; computer software for cemetery along with computer to operate software – should apply to Norcross to see if we can get any funding through them.
Also was discussed the Cemetery at Bethany Road and the property owners on Pine street and the encroachment onto the Cemetery property. I spoke with Gretchen and she said we should send a certified letter to the owners explaining the encroachment and they must stop. We are looking into the property boundaries before we continue to make sure of the bounds, then we will proceed.
Paul handed out a copy of the Open Meeting Law changes that are from the Attorney General, which Nancy Morrell provided. We will read and act accordingly.
NEW BUSINESS:
New budgets are out and we are looking at bare bones and trying to continue to offer the same services. No other new business was discussed.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:05pm
Next meeting is Thursday, August 5, 2010, at 6pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
James Duggan, Chairman/Clerk
