Meeting of 2009-10/22
Monson Cemetery Commission
Thursday, October 22, 2009

The special meeting of the Cemetery Commission opened at 6:10pm in the office at 32 Wilbraham Road. Commissioners present were: Al Wilcox, Jim Duggan; Shawn Connery. Also present was Paul Lovell, Superintendent.

NEW BUSINESS:
Special meeting was called to discuss the Selectmen’s request to cut either 10% or 30% from our current budget. This request is due to the Governor’s cuts that are/have happened. A 10% cut in our budget would result in a reduction of $6,344 and a 30% cut would mean a cut of $19,033, according to the memo received from Gretchen. We discussed both options and we agreed to offer up the 10% reduction. Although this would cut out many needed things, it would be better than losing personnel as a 30% cut would do. We feel that if need be, and we needed funds for equipment repairs and the like we would be able to use the perpetual care fund to accomplish this. We decided to attend the Selectmen’s meeting on Tuesday, October 27th to discuss this further.
        Meeting was adjourned at 7:00pm

Respectfully Submitted,

James Duggan, Clerk
