Meeting of 2005-10/07
MONSON CEMETERY COMMISSION
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2005

The regular meeting of the Monson Cemetery Commissioners convened at 8:30 a.m. in the office at 32 Wilbraham Road. In attendance were Julian E. Szarlan, Albert T. Wilcox, Robert E. Pease, Paul B. Lovell and Gaylin G. Bingle.

The Recording Secretary read the meeting minutes of September 2, 2005. Mr. Pease made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Mr. Wilcox seconded the motion.

OLD BUSINESS:

There wasn’t any old business at this meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:

1.      Part-time Employee –The Commissioners agreed unanimously if a burial were to come in, the hours of the part-time help would be allowed the flexibility to allow more hours during funerals. It was agreed to go along with Paul’s suggestion of having the part-time help work eight hours a day for the three days it takes to locate the grave, open the grave and then the actual burial, allowing the person who would normally work twenty hours per week to work approximately thirty hours during that particular week.

2.      New Tires – Paul said the rear tires on the dump truck are getting worn down and will need to be replaced soon.

3.      Storm Damage – Paul and the seasonal employee cut up and removed a large tree, which came down in Hillside due to the strong winds.

4.      Heating Oil – Paul said he recently filled the oil tank for the Cemetery building at a cost of $2.58 per gallon for a total of $620.00.

5.      Leaf Season – The Commissioners agreed Paul could bring Christopher Aldrich back to help out during leaf season at the rate of $8.50 per hour.

At 9:40 a.m., Mr. Wilcox made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Szarlan seconded the motion.

Respectfully Submitted,

Gaylin Bingle
Recording Secretary
