MONSON CEMETERY COMMISSION
FRIDAY, APRIL 1, 2005
The regular meeting of the Monson Cemetery Commissioners convened at 8:30 a.m. in the office at 32 Wilbraham Road. In attendance were Robert E. Pease and Albert T. Wilcox. Julian E. Szarlan was not in attendance at this meeting. Also present were Paul B. Lovell and Gaylin G. Bingle. John R. Nothe also was not in attendance at this meeting.
The meeting minutes of March 4, 2005 were read by the Recording Secretary and accepted with a motion by Mr. Wilcox and seconded by Mr. Pease.
OLD BUSNIESS:
1. Copier – Paul brought the copier in to have the ink cartridge replaced. The cartridges are sold in a two pack for a cost of $72.00 as they wouldn’t sell just one. So we now have a spare ink cartridge for the next time.
2. Snow on Roof of Building – Neither of the contractors have contacted Paul yet regarding looking at the roof to see just what could be done to correct the problem or to give a quote. Mr. Wilcox said he would take care of this.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Hiring of Seasonal Part-time Help – Paul said with weather permitting, the seasonal help would be starting on April 19th. A transfer might be needed prior to the end of the fiscal year to fund the salary for seasonal help.
2. Transmission on Truck Leaking – The transmission has been dripping for a while, some days worse then others. Paul said the department would be without a truck when the transmission is repaired, which could be a problem. The Commissioners agreed to rent a truck during that time if a truck was needed and the Highway Department was unable to help out. The Commissioners agreed not to wait and to have the transmission repaired as soon as possible.
3. Senior Center – Mr. Pease said the Senior Center is creating a Memorial Garden with a gazebo/arbor and asked Paul if he could remove some bushes there with the Cemetery backhoe if the Highway Department was unable to do it. Paul agreed to give it a try, but said the Cemetery backhoe is too small to do too much.
At 9:05 a.m., Mr. Wilcox made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Pease seconded the motion.
Respectfully Submitted,
Gaylin Bingle
Recording Secretary
