MONSON CEMETERY COMMISSION
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2004
The regular Monson Cemetery Commissioners meeting convened at 8:30 a.m. in the office at 32 Wilbraham Road. In attendance were Robert E. Pease, Albert T. Wilcox, John R. Nothe and Gaylin G. Bingle. Julian E. Szarlan and Paul B. Lovell were absent.
The meeting minutes of November 5, 2004 were read by the Recording Secretary and accepted with a motion by Mr. Wilcox and seconded by Mr. Pease.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Branch at North Main and Tree in Hillside – A quote was received from Blue Ox Tree Service for the removal of a large limb in North Main Street Cemetery and a rotted tree in Hillside Cemetery. The price quoted was $850.00. It was agreed this price was too high and that more quotes should be solicited. Mr. Pease made a motion to seek more quotes for the removal of the limb and rotted tree. Mr. Wilcox seconded the motion.
2. Service for Copier – The copier is currently being serviced.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Tailgate for Leaf Vacuum – Paul and John are having a new tailgate made up for the leaf vacuum allowing them to push the blowers up on the trailer. Hamm’s Welding is making up the tailgate and John will modify the shoot for the vacuum, as it will need to be shortened. It was agreed this work could be done at John’s house, as he has the welder required for this job, on company time.
2. New Computer – Mr. Pease made a motion to get the new computer as soon as possible. Mr. Wilcox seconded the motion. Paul and John have started calling around explaining just what it is we are looking for and requesting the quotes to be faxed in. Mr. Pease suggested receiving a quote from ServU 724, located in the Norcross House, as he sells computers as well as services them. It was agreed to notify the Commissioners when the quotes are received and to possibly hold a Special Meeting in order to purchase the new computer prior to the next meeting.
3. Snow Plowing – John said the Cemetery truck is starting to get old and due to the wear and tear on the truck he will not be plowing the towns roads unless John Morrell calls him. The Commissioners agreed to have John not plow with the Cemetery truck unless it is a State of Emergency or he is asked to help out.
4. Bagger for Mower – John said a bagger could not be adapted to the mower and that a new mower would have to be purchased in order to have a bagger on the mower. Mr. Pease tabled the bagger for the mower at this meeting, and to possibly bring it up at a future date.
5. Snow on Roof of Building – It was agreed by the Commissioners to receive ideas and quotes from local contractors such as Brian Mushenko of North Lane, to see what he says can be done to stop the snow from sliding off the roof of the building over the office doorway, as it is extremely dangerous. It was agreed to do this as soon as possible.
At 9:10 a.m., Mr. Pease made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Wilcox seconded the motion.
Respectfully Submitted,
Gaylin Bingle
Recording Secretary
