Regular meeting of the Monson Board of Health was called to order at 5:31 p.m. by Chair Beau Schneider.
Members present were Wayne Yee, Vicki Alfano and Joanna Sorreiro. Carrie Payne was absent.  Lorri McCool, Health/Title V Inspector was also in attendance. Resident  Mr. Chas. Cournoyer was present.
Joanna Sorreiro made motion to accept the minutes from the July 6, 2016 meeting. Second by Vicki Alfano.  All in favor. The minutes of March 20, 2013 cannot be accepted at this time and were tabled.
Vicki Alfano received her acceptance certificate as Barn Inspector from the State. She is in receipt of some paperwork from the State pertaining to the position, however, this all pertains to cats, dogs, rabies and quarantines. Lorri McCool to contact the State in regards to the actual barn book.

Claire Forgues contacted the Monson PD during the meeting and spoke to dispatcher Bill Chaffree regarding the use of narcam. At this time. Monson police are not trained on narcam use, however the fire dept. is. Future training is to take place.

Claire Forgues advised the Board that all the floor drain permits have been received except for APMI on Bethany Rd.. Lorri McCool advised, she can go do a premise visit to advise drain needs to be in compliance and APMI has received 3 notifications to comply.

Lorri McCool advised the Board that all the camp inspections are complete. Lorri to instruct Finn McCool to be sworn in at the Clerk’s office. Lorri informed complaints have been relatively quiet except for working on a tenant/landlord dispute and complaints at 7 Reynolds Ave., Apt. 1R. Letter sent to tenant and landlord with follow-up the end of the week.

Vicki Alfano inquired as to what was going on at the Silver Bells Farm on 305 Silver St. Lorri McCool advised, she had spoken in length with Michael Moore in regards to improving/expanding their food service. If, events were held on the property, caterers could be brought in or for smaller events there was a possibility of mobile vendors who would need a temp. one-day food permit from the Board. Upgrades are a continued work in progress.

Joanna Sorreiro would like to continue to do follow-up on the school water testing that was made available. Joanna has received correspondence from the State and would like to report back to the DEP on where the schools stand with the testing.


Conversation continued from the last meeting regarding refining the wording on changes to Bulky Day effective in September 24, 2016. Beau Schneider compiled and typed an outline and much discussion from all members present refined the article for the newspaper. Vicki Alfano will type a final draft for Claire Forgues to submit to the Journal Register and also send to M-Pact. Wayne Yee to complete the final draft of the flyer.






Licenses, permits, payroll and bill schedules signed.

Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday August 31, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.
