Regular meeting of the Monson Board of Health was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Dr. Richard Smith. Members present: Gary Allard, Phyllis Klick, Margaret Harrison and Jane Jacobs.
The Board reviewed and read the minutes of December 2, 2009. Mr. Allard moved to accept the minutes as presented, seconded by Ms. Jacobs and so voted.
Board of Health Responsibilities:
- Beavers – Mr. Allard had nothing to report.
- Body Art Regulations – Ms. Jacobs had nothing to report.
- Bulky Day – Ms. Klick had nothing to report.
- Communicable Diseases – Ms. Jacobs informed the Board that there were (2) cases of Lyme disease. The second H1N1 clinic was a success. (91) People were inoculated. This leaves us with approximately 1200 doses available. The state also informed the Board that they will be receiving 1500 more doses. Ms. Harrison stated that the Monson Developmental Center is having trouble getting the vaccine. They need (100) doses. Lorri McCool will be asked to see if we couldn’t help the MDC by giving them vaccine. After a brief discussion, Ms. Jacobs moved to give the MDC (100) doses of the vaccine, seconded by Mr. Allard and voted unanimously.
- Emergency Preparedness – Ms. Harrison had nothing to report.
- Finances – Dr. Smith informed the Board that he had submitted a level funded budget to Finance Director, Deborah Mahar.
- Floor drains – Mr. Allard had nothing to report.
- Food safety – Ms. Jacobs had nothing to report.
- Hazardous Waste Day – Ms. Klick had nothing to report.
- Health Fair – Ms. Jacobs and Ms. Harrison had nothing to report.
- Housing Safety – Mr. Allard had nothing to report.
- Medical Reserve Corps – Ms. Harrison had nothing to report.
- Outdoor Hydronic Heaters – Mr. Allard had nothing to report.
- Press Relations – Dr. Smith had nothing to report.
- Recycling – Ms. Klick had nothing to report.
- Tobacco – This was unfunded.
- Trash – Ms. Klick had nothing to report.
- Wells – Mr. Allard had nothing to report.
There was no other business to come before the Board.
The Board signed the necessary correspondence and initialed all bills.
The Board read and responded to the correspondence.
At 8:00 p.m. Ms. Jacobs moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mr. Allard and voted unanimously.
