Regular meeting of the Monson Board of Health was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Dr. Richard Smith. Members present: Gary Allard and Margaret Harrison. Members absent: Phyllis Klick and Jane Jacobs.
The Board read and reviewed the Minutes of September 23, 2009. Mr. Allard moved to accept the minutes as presented, seconded by Dr. Smith and voted unanimously.
Update on Responsibilities:
- Beavers – There was nothing to report.
- Body Art Regulations – There was nothing to report.
- Bulky Day – The Board discussed a suggestion by Fred Parfumi to place advertising for Bulky Day in with the trash bills when they are mailed. The Board also discussed traffic flow during the event. This will be discussed further at a later meeting. Thank-you letters will be sent to the Police, Highway and Collector’s office for participating in Bulky Day and also to the Woodbine Country Store, Adams IGA and Richard Kology.
- Communicable Disease – The Board of Health held a flu clinic on October 14, 2009 at the Senior Center. 273 Shots were given to senior citizens and town employees and the remainder was given to the school on a first come first served basis. We are waiting for the H1N1 vaccine to arrive which should be coming in a few days.
- Emergency Preparedness – There will be a LEPC meeting on Wednesday, October 28th after the Department Head meeting in the Selectmen’s Conference Room.
Finances – There was nothing to report.
Floor Drains – There was nothing to report.
Food Safety – There was nothing to report.
Hazardous Waste Day –The Board discussed the possibility of hold a hazardous waste day funded out of the trash program. This will be discussed again at a future meeting.
Health Fair – There was nothing to report.
Housing Safety – There was nothing to report.
Medical Reserve Corps – There was nothing to report.
Outdoor Hydronic Heaters – There was nothing to report.
Press Relations – There was nothing to report.
Recycling – There was nothing to report.
Tobacco – There was nothing to report.
Trash – There was nothing to report.
Wells – There was nothing to report.
The Board signed correspondence and initialed all bills.

Mr. Allard moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. seconded by Ms. Harrison and voted unanimously.
