Board of Assessors
Monday January 27, 2014
Members Present: Assessors Allan Curtis, Michael Benfield
Members Absent:  Chairman Russell Bressette
Attendees:
Principal Assessor: Ann P. Murphy
Open the Meeting:  The meeting was called to order at 4:25pm.


Accept the Minutes:  A motion was made by Michael and seconded by Allan to accept the minutes of December 9, 2013.  The motion passed.


OLD BUSINESS:
  • None
NEW BUSINESS:   

The Board reviewed, voted and approved the following Motor Vehicle Commitments:
  • 2014 Commitment 01in the amount of $749,005.00
  • 2013 Commitment 07 in the amount of $5,974.07
The Board reviewed, voted and approved the following Motor Vehicle Abatements:
  • 2013 in the amount of $30.21
  • 2012 in the amount of $12.91
The Board reviewed, voted and denied one Motor Vehicle Abatement.

The Board reviewed, voted and approved the Petition to Resolve Levy – Motor Vehicle 2009.

The Board reviewed 7 Real Estate applications and took the following action:
  • Approved application for 072-004
  • Approved application for 165-015
  • Instructed Principal Assessor to gather more information on the other 5 applications .
The Board reviewed, voted and approved the following Chapterland applications:
  • 1- Chapter 61A – Agricultural /Horticultural
  • 1- Chapter 61B – Recreational
The Board reviewed, voted and signed the following exemptions:
  • 5 – Clause 22 – Veteran in the amount of RE$2,000.00/CPA$60.00
  • 1 – Clause 22E – Veteran in the amount of RE$1,000.00/CPA$21.04
4 – Clause 41C – Elderly in the amount of RE$3,000.00/CPA$160.82

The Board reviewed, read and signed the Acknowledgement of Receipt for the Conflict of Interest Law.  

The Board was updated on miscellaneous items.

The next meeting was scheduled was confirmed as Monday February 24, 2014 at 4:15pm.

ADJOURN:  At 5:29pm. A motion was made by Michael and seconded by Allan to adjourn.  The motion passed unanimously.
