Board of Assessors
Monday August 26, 2013
Members Present: Chairman Russell Bressette and Assessor Allan Curtis,
Members Absent: Assessor Michael Benfield
Attendees:
Principal Assessor: Ann P. Murphy
Open the Meeting: The meeting was called to order at 4:15pm.
Accept the Minutes: A motion was made by Allan and seconded by Russell to accept the minutes of July 29 and 31, 2013. The motion passed unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS:
NEW BUSINESS:
The Board reviewed, voted and approved the following Motor Vehicle Abatements:
- 2013 Abatements in the amount of $3226.90
- 2012 Abatements in the amount of $85.00
The Board reviewed, voted and denied the following Motor Vehicle Abatements:
- 2013 – 1 denied
- 2012 – 2 denied
- 2011 – 2 denied
- 2010 – 1 denied
The Board reviewed, voted and signed the following Chapterland applications:
- 3 – Chapter 61A Agricultural/Horticultural applications
- 7 – Chapter 61B Recreational applications
The Board reviewed, voted and signed the following Chapterland liens:
- 1 – Chapter 61 Forest Land tax lien
The Board was updated on the status of the FY14 revaluation. The proposed values for FY14 have been submitted to the DOR and we are awaiting preliminary certification.
The Board was informed of upcoming seminars and meetings. The Board discussed the upcoming MMA Legislative Breakfast and has decided to put together a list of items that they would like the principal assessor to submit to our representatives at this breakfast.
The Board was updated on miscellaneous items.
The next meeting was scheduled for Monday September 23, 2013 at 4:15pm.
ADJOURN: At 4:52pm. A motion was made by Allan and seconded by Russell to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
