Open the Meeting: The meeting was called to order at 4:15pm.
Accept the Minutes: A motion was made by Allan and seconded by Michael to accept the minutes of December 13, 2012. The motion passed unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS:
- The Board discussed the information that the principal assessor gathered regarding meetings and conference calls. According to the Town Clerk, as long as you have a physical quorum, with the chairman of the board present, a board member may remote in via phone or computer(skype, ect). Russell made a motion that Allan be appointed temporary chairman while he is out due to surgery and Michael seconded the motion. All were in favor.
NEW BUSINESS:
The Board reviewed and signed the Assessors Oath for 2013 commitment book.
The Board reviewed and signed the Assessors Notice for FY2014 Forms of List.
The Board voted and approved the following warrants:
- FY13 Real Estate Tax in the amount of $5,591,352.39
- FY13 CPA Surcharge in the amount of $93,350.52
The Board voted and approved the following Motor Vehicle Abatements:
- 2012 Abatements in the amount of $118.13
The Board denied 1 motor vehicle abatement applications.
The Board voted and approved the following Real Estate/CPA Exemptions:
- 3 – Clause 22 Veteran exemption in the amount of $1,200.00/$36.00
- 1 – Clause 41C Elderly exemption in the amount of $750.00/$66.91
- 1 – Clause 42 Surviving Spouse exemption in the amount of $4,445.89/$88.41
The Board reviewed, discussed and approved the following abatement applications:
- 8 – Real Estate abatement applications in the amount of $8,080.58/CPA $158.00
- 1 – Personal Property abatement in the amount of $83.16
The Board requested more information be obtained in regards to a personal property tax abatement application that was filed before taken action on it.
The Board reviewed and signed the following Chapterland applications:
- 2 Chapter 61B– FY13 Recreational Land
- 1 Chapter 61B – FY14 Recreational Land
The Board reviewed and signed a Petition to resolve the Levy for Motor Vehicle Excise Tax Levy 2008 in the amount of $3,169.49
The Board was updated on miscellaneous items.
The next meeting was scheduled for Thursday February 7, 2013 at 4:15pm and Monday March 18, 2013 at 4:15pm.
ADJOURN: At 5:25pm, a motion was made by Allan and seconded by Michael to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.
