Read minutes of December 14, 2005   meeting. Motion to accept Gary DePace, 2nd David Royce  Approved.

Signed abatement applications, exemptions applications and bill schedule.

Motion to see all abatement applications over $50.00 in abated amount.

Meeting with John Arooth and Leo Cortina 4:48

Mr. Arooth and Mr. Cortina came in to discuss the abatement of the roll back taxes on a 15 acre piece of property located on Macomber Rd.

Gary DePace explained that the assessors must remain consistent when valuing road front property.  Mr. Cortina explained the elevation of the road not being of the necessary amount for allowance of building lots.  He began by explaining the elevation of Upper Palmer Rd. in comparison to the lot in question on Macomber Rd.

David Royce explained precedent for building lots.  Mr. Arooth expressed frustration at that, based on the fact that the road has been abandoned by the town for maintenance purposes, and has been non maintained for many years he feels it is a different situation.

David Royce then requested something in writing stating he cannot build on this parcel.  Board at that time will revisit this issue.  The Board asked them to go to the planning board for an official opinion.

Other business

Revised billing will have to be done to 109 class properties.  They did not recalculate properly when values were changed for the FY 2006 fiscal billing.

Discussed printing of field cards with 2006 data prior to the switch to the new software.

Discussion of possible deed restrictions for unbuildable lots.  It was determined that it would not be practical.

Kelli will contact Dennis from the Historical Society to schedule a walk through on the
1 Green Street property, to calculate reconfiguration of rented and personally used area for taxation purposes.

A letter will be sent to the Monson Housing Authority for payment in lieu of taxes for fiscal 2006.

Next meetings will be 2/8/06 and 2/22/06 at 4:30pm.
