Meeting August 10TH , 2005

Read and accepted minutes of July 20th meeting and August 3rd meeting.
Discussion of site review by Russell Bressette, of Mr. Mederios property at 181 Brimfield Rd. parcel 170-002. Mr. Mederios purchased the property in January 2005. He filed an abatement and it was misplaced in the office prior to the review. Because the time for action has elapsed, a deemed denied notification needs to be sent. This will allow Mr. Mederios opportunity to file at the A.T.B. thus opening the door for the
Assessors to revisit the abatement process.
Kelli will send notification after Russell speaks with Mr. Mederios.

Audra Harris as observer
A quorum being present the Select Board opened their meeting at 4:15.
Russell Bressette began by explaining in detail the process the Board of Assessors used to come to the decision about whom to interview. Mr. Bressette then explained that the Assessors were at the point of discussion of the interviewed candidates with the intent to choose one. The Select Board was invited to be involved in this discussion so that communication between the recommending board and the appointing authority would be clear.
At this point Ms. Norbut clarified their original concern with the process.
Discussion ensued regarding the pro and cons of each candidate.
After discussion of each candidate a motion was made by Gary DePace, 2nd by David Royce to recommend Audra Harris as Administrative Assessor. So voted unanimous.
Selectmen Harris made a motion to accept the recommendation of the Board of Assessor for Audra Harris to be hired as Administrative Assessor as per union contract to be effective August 11, 2005. Mrs. Norbut then opened the floor to further discussion. Mrs. Norbut thanked the Assessors for including the Select Board in the process. Moved the vote. So voted unanimous.

The next scheduled meetings will be 2ND and 4th Wednesdays of the month beginning with September, 2005
