Ninth Meeting

        Reserve Fund Balance:  $  348,650

The Chair called the meeting to order at 6:10 PM in the Teachers Lounge at Milton High School.

The Chair recognized Marion McEttrick, Chair of the Board of Selectmen and Kevin Mearn, Town Administrator to discuss the new State Early Retirement Program for town workers with 20 years of service.  

The Chair thanked Ms. McEttrick and Mr. Mearn for their presentation.

On a motion made by Member Walker and seconded by Member Hurley, the Warrant Committee recommended with a vote of 13-0-0 that the Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator send a letter of intent to participate in the State Early Retirement Program.

On a motion made by Member Walker and seconded by Member Bell, the Warrant Committee approved the minutes of 9/1/10 with a vote of 9-0-3.

On a motion by Member Walker and seconded by Member Hurley, the Warrant Committee approved a Reserve Fund Transfer of $4,875.00 with a vote of 13-0-0 for emergency repairs to the Milton Animal Shelter.  

Chair Innes updated the committee on the FY12 budget process and discussions held with the Town Adminstrator. The Chair noted a change to Table 10 in the next Annual Town Warrant that will show a level service request calculated at a FY11 level dollar budget plus any salary increases plus a 1% increase in  General Expenses. For FY2012, departments will be requested to provide a level dollar budget and outline how they would deal with cuts of up to 1% in their salary and wages line item. Further discussions will be held at future Warrant Committee meetings.

On a vote by Member Walker and seconded by Member Hurley, the Warrant Committee recessed at 7:05 PM to attend the Special Town Meeting in the High School Auditorium.
