Twenty eighth meeting

Reserve Fund:   $240,877.00

  • Chair Hays called the meeting to order at 7:34 pm in the Carol Blute Conference Room.
  • Member Paul Pasquerella recused himself from the discussion of the Citizen’s Petition regarding Curry College because he is a neighbor of Curry College.
  • Chair Hays recognized attorney Robert Fishman and attorney Robert Sheffield to discuss the Citizens petition regarding Curry College which was put forth by the neighbors of Curry College. Attorney Fishman presented a letter to the Warrant Committee and Attorney Sheffield discussed the letter with the committee.
  • Chair Hays then recognized Patrick Greeley, the lead petitioner of the Citizen’s petition to provide the Warrant Committee her perspective on being a neighbor of Curry College.  Other neighbors that spoke regarding the article were Tim Kiernan, Erin Knowles and Tom Coulter. Chair Hays thanked Mr. Greeley, Mr. Kiernan, Mrs. Knowles and Mr. Coulter.
  • Chair Hays requested that Attorney Fishman report back to the Warrant Committee within a week with a response in writing from Curry College regarding what was discussed at the meeting. Chair Hays thanked Mr. Fishman and Mr. Sheffield for their presentations.
  • Chair Hays discussed deadlines, revenue numbers and other housekeeping matters with the Warrant Committee, including a suggestion to reduce the Unemployment budget by $15,000 leaving $100,000 for FY 2015.
  • On a motion made by Member Tougias and seconded by Member Genega the Warrant Committee voted to reduce the FY 2015 Unemployment Budget by $15,000 leaving a total Unemployment Budget for FY 2015 of $100,000, while reassigning the $15,000 to the following operational budgets for FY 2015: Inspectional Services ($11,428), Town Clerk ($2,635), and Treasurer ($937).  8/0/0
  • On a motion made by Member Pasquerella and seconded by Member Turner the Warrant Committee voted to approve One Time Funding for the following budgets: Fire ($20,433) Assessors ($116,410) and Consolidated Facilities ($85,800). 8/0/0
  • On a motion made by Member Genega and seconded by Member Turner the Warrant Committee voted unanimously to adjourn at 10:20 pm. 8/0/0
