Twenty-Eighth Meeting

Secretary Hurley called the meeting to order at 7:40 PM.
Prior to the Library budget presentation, Member Innes recused himself. Library Director Phil McNulty and Trustees Gene Boylan and Hyacinth Crichlow presented the Library budget. At the end of their presentation, Member Innes returned to the meeting.
The School Administration (Superintendent Magdalene Giffune and Assistant Superintendents Mary Gormley and Paul Hilton) and the School Committee (Beirne Lovely, Glenn Pavlicek, Mary Kelly, Lynda Lee Sheridan and Chris Huban) presented the FY09 school budget. Among the topics discussed were affects of a level funded budget and a budget 5% below level funding. They also presented various needs of the school system by category, i.e., Policy and Administration, Instructional Leadership, Instruction, Instructional Services, etc.
On a motion made by Member Keel and seconded by Secretary Hurley, the Committee voted to approve the minutes of 2/20/08 by a vote of 9-0-3.
The next meeting will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Senior Center at 9:00 AM.
Member Keel moved, Member Innes seconded and the Committee voted to adjourn at 10:30 PM.
