WARRANT COMMITTEE MINUTES                                    January 10, 2007

ELEVENTH MEETING

RESERVE FUND:                   $388,200

Chair Conlon called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

The Committee received a preliminary FY 2008 budget assessment from the Blue Hills Regional School District in the amount of $525,842,  a reduction of $56,308 from FY 2007.

A conference was held with former Veterans’ Agent Richard Mearn.  Discussed were the requests for  Reserve Fund transfers to the Veterans’ FY 2007 Benefit and General Expense appropriations.  Following discussion, the Committee voted 11-0-0 to approve a $5,400 Reserve Fund transfer to the FY 2007 Veterans Benefits and 11-0-0 to approve a $1,173 Reserve Fund transfer to the General Expenses FY 2007 appropriations.

The Chair notified the Committee that Thomas McGrath  had resigned from the Committee  due to personal reasons.  The Committee discussed the possibility of filling this vacancy.

Members Biagiotti and Innes volunteered to be assigned to the Capital/Employee Benefits Subcommittee to replace Michael Flanagan and Thomas McGrath.  The Chair thanked them for taking on these extra duties.

General Government Chair Thomas Hurley presented the following FY 2008 budgets: Audit;  Law; Annual Reports; Selectmen E & R; Selectmen and General Insurance; along with questions raised by the Subcommittee on each.  The Warrant Committee raised further suggestions and Chair Hurley will present these questions to each department head.

On a motion made by Member Dee and seconded by Member Innes, the minutes of January 8, 2007 were approved 10-0-1.

The next meeting of the Warrant Committee will be held on January 17, 2007.
