WARRANT COMMITTEE MINUTES January 24, 2007

Chair Conlon called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
The Committee received Building Commissioner Joseph Prondaks’s response to questions raised by the Committee regarding his submission of the FY 2008 Building Department budget.
Member Mason recused herself from the meeting prior to discussion of the FY 2008 Cemetery budget.
Cemetery Subcommittee Chair Biagiotti presented the FY 2008 Cemetery budget. Questions raised by the Committee will be submitted to Therese Desmond-Sills, Cemetery Superintendent.
Member Mason returned to the meeting.
General Government Chair Tom Hurley presented the following FY 2008 budgets: Town Clerk; Treasurer/Collector and Veterans. Questions raised by the Committee will be submitted to the Town Clerk, Treasurer and Veterans’ Agent.
Following discussion, the Committee voted 9-3-0 to approve a $20,000 Reserve Fund set--aside to the Central Business Office’s Professional Services FY 2007 appropriation to cover the cost of performing a GASB45 actuarial study.
On a motion made by Member Dee and seconded by Member Innes, the minutes of January 17 were approved 10-0-2.
Chair Conlon reported on the January 23rd meeting of the Finance Group. Among the items discussed were the updating of the school building project, Library building project, inquiries that the Town has received from its bond rating agencies, and the Town’s reserves..
The Committee took under review a request from the Board of Selectmen regarding proposed financial policy statements. Further discussion will be held at the next meeting.
