WARRANT COMMITTEE

THIRTY-SEVENTH MEETING                                  MAY 7, 2007

The Chair called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in Milton High School prior to the beginning of the Annual Town Meeting.

The Committee received a copy of a communication from Steve Pearlman, Advocacy Director of the Neponset River Watershed Association, regarding the Milton Falls-Brownfield Planning Unit Development - Article 46, regarding median PCB concentrations in sediments behind the T&H Dam, located immediately adjacent to the affected property.
                
On a motion offered by Member Keel and seconded by Member Innes, the minutes of May 2, 2007 were approved 10-0-2.

On a motion offered by Member Biagiotti and seconded by Member Keel, the Committee voted 12-0-0 to reopen Article 13 (FY07 Fire Contract).  The Board discussed a proposal from the Board of Selectmen to revise the Warrant Committee’s  recommendation on the funding of Article 13.  Following that discussion the Committee voted 12-0-0 to RECOMMEND that the sum of $107,000 be appropriated for the purposes of this article and that to meet said appropriation the sum of $64,900 be transferred from funds appropriated under Article 17 of the May 2006 Annual Town Meeting (Selectmen, Salary-Town Administrator and Selectmen, Salary-Other), that the sum of $27,000 be transferred from funds appropriated under Article 17 of the May 2006 Annual Town Meting (Insurance General-General Expenses) and that the sum of $15,100 be transferred from funds appropriated under Article 15 of the May 2006 Annual Town Meeting (Police &Youth-Salaries & Wages).

Chair Conlon reviewed with the Committee the Power Point presentation “A Financial Review of  FY 2001-FY 2008" to be shown during the Annual Town Meeting.  The Chair thanked Member Innes for preparing this presentation.

The meeting recessed at 6:45 p.m. to allow the Warrant Committee to attend the first evening of the 2007 Annual Town Meeting.
                                
The next meeting of the Warrant Committee will be on May 8, 2007 at Milton High School prior to the second evening of the 2007 Annual Town Meeting.
